About Us
The college supports three Houses: Dobitj, Weitj and Karda with three House Captains, each with a Year 12 Leader. Prefects and Year 10 and 11 Student Leaders advocate for the requirements of all students whether Residential or Day.
In 2024, our WACE achievement was 95% of the Year 12 cohort. There are four learning priorities shared across all sections: Real World Living; Best Practices in Teaching, Training and Learning; Staff and Student Wellbeing and Positive Community Engagement and Partnerships.
The Student Services team works with the entire college to support students to achieve OLNA:
- On enrolment at the college in 2022, only 10% of the cohort had prequalified OLNA. This is compared to 45% – 50% for the state.
- At the end of Year 12, 95% of our students had achieved all OLNA. This is compared to 85% – 90% for the state.
In May 2024, WACoA Narrogin (RTO 50506) successfully passed a desktop and site audit for our Renewal of Registration across both Farm and Trades. We were found to be fully compliant across all offered training packages, delivery and assessment. The Lead Auditor, Dr Russell Docking commented in his overview:
‘As a residential college, the RTO has a strong commitment to student welfare and provides comprehensive educational and personal support to its students. The RTO has a strong management team and very well credentialled and experienced trainers and assessors’.
2024 Completion of VET Certificates:
- 100% of students, who enrolled, gained three Certificate II qualifications across Trades and Farm. All Year 12 students completed their Certificate II qualifications in full.
- 78% of students, who enrolled, gained one or more Certificate III qualification in Agriculture.
- Zaine Cuthbert in Year 12 was one of three finalists in the 2024 WA Training Awards for his dedication and excellence in VET Agriculture.
- Pepper Wortley, Phillip Wiehl and Brodie Hills (Year 12) were shortlisted for the 2024 SCSA Awards for Outstanding Achievement in VET.
From Years 10 – 12, all students are expected to take part in Work Place Learning (ADWPL) which can gain students up to 4 SCSA endorsed C grade equivalents towards gaining a WACE and provides industry currency to support students’ learning in their sections. In Term 3, all Year 11 students take part in Short Courses where students complete a Defensive Driving course, their White Card and gain two Units of Competency through Fire and Safety Australia in:
HLTAID001 Provide First Aid
PUAFER008 Confine small emergencies in a facility (fire extinguishing)
Both these completed UoCs are attached to the students’ Certificate II in Agriculture.
